Tony Almeida was born and raised in the Alfama District of Lisbon, Portugal.  The district is the heart and soul of Portugal, and he tries to reflect this "heart and soul" through his paintings.   Tony is basically self-taught, with some courses at the Belas Artes School of Lisbon, Portugal.   He has exhibited his work around the State of Florida, to include the Backus Museum; Casselberry City Hall, and several solo exhibits at the Peabody Auditorium, in Daytona Beach, Florida.  He also has his painting "Night Rehearsal" on permanent display at the Peabody Auditorium.  Besides Florida, he has also exhibited in Europe, and has been a cover artist on several Gage Publishing magazines.  And was featured in the American Art Collector Magazine, and has been a featured Artist at www.Target.com.  Tony has recently won an award at the American Art Awards for 2019.  He competed with artists from 63 countries, and his painting "Paradise Found"  is featured in Category #22, Impressionists Landscapes on a YouTube video by American Art Awards.
